OK, so I haven't posted in a while, but it's not like I haven't been busy. Have a look at my portfolio. I have more to post soon....and thanks for visiting.
Also, check out 20 Perspectives https://www.20perspectives a gathering of exceptional international quilt artists.
I am a self-taught artist. I primarily use commercial and hand-dyed fabrics and various sewing techniques to create. Over time my work has become more abstract. I want the viewer to see my work and bring their own experience to complete the picture in their mind.
When I created this piece I was thinking of a woman of a "certain age" reflecting on her past while planning her future. Where did THAT idea come from you ask. I gave her green eye shadow and purple silk gloves. I love her.
I am inspired by the patterns in the ordinary, like this photo I took of an alley in Stillwater, Oklahoma. I love the diagonal lines. I see shapes in the mundane that make me think "What if...?" I actually created a piece using this photo as an inspiration, but in my mind it needed a lot more color.
Thanks for visiting my site. Let me know what you think.
